Description ▲
Part of the Brewing Beer In The Buckeye State series, Brewing Beer In The Queen City, Volume 1 gives a pictorial history of the six major breweries that stood on McMicken Avenue in Cincinnati's Over-The-Rhine District. With over 300 color images of buildings, people, labels, signs and other advertising, the histories of the Jackson, Sohn/ Clyffside, Lafayette, Hudepohl, Schmidt/ Crown, and Bellevue breweries are discussed in detail. Although brewing last took place on the street in 1957, most of the breweries are still standing today, and some of their Nineteenth Century underground cellars can be toured on a regular basis. This is the first of a several volume series on Cincinnati breweries.
