Description

INDIAN SUMMER is a timeless story that could be about any young man returning from any war with his body and mind broken. During the Viet Nam war, TRACE MCCALL was the Leader of a Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) Team. These teams selected only the elite of the Special Forces of the US Army also known as Green Berets. The story follows Trace McCall on one last LRRP but instead of trekking through the jungles of South Viet Nam, he is on a quest to visit the families of his fallen comrades and the remaining members of his last team. Badly wounded in his last battle in which two of his team members were killed, Trace determines that his key to salvation is helping others similarly afflicted. As Trace was rehabilitating his body, he also rehabilitated a 1946 Indian Chief Motorcycle that not only serves as his means of transportation but his ride to freedom. The story takes place in 1969 with the great music and anti-war atmosphere , and will take you to the projects in Memphis where you meet MEMPHIS (Charles Page) and fall in love with his mother; a trailer park in Mobile where you will meet the wife of BAMA (Leonard Langston), an abused young woman and her daughter who live in terror of her biker boyfriend; a mafia stronghold in Youngstown where you will meet JOEY V’s (Joey Vincinti) mother and father and his “made” uncle; a blueblood mansion in Boston where you will meet DOC (William Scathington) who attends med school at Harvard, his mother and father, and his anti-war, anti-military sister; and last to the Navajo Reservation in Arizona where you will travel with YATZE’s (Remington Yazzi) little family as he moves his sheep to their summer pastures and where Trace will finally find some peace through a nine day healing ceremony. It’s a quest that travels the back roads of America where you will meet some good and not so good people. You will laugh and you will cry. You will not want the journey to end.
