Kravig Family: From Buskerud Fylke, Norway to Lincoln County, Colorado

This volume represents the culmination of a promise made after a brief presentation at a Kravig family reunion in 1998. Several people asked for a written version of the slide presentation, but there were so many holes in the history that additional research was required, and a trip to Norway was deemed necessary by the author too. In a nutshell the resulting research and resources cover nearly two centuries of two families that had their beginnings on inland farming communities in the Numedal and Sigdal valleys in the Buskerud Fylke northeast of Oslo. Using family resources, and the digital archives of Norway, Dudley has been able to trace his family’s emigration from their homeland and the places they lived in the United States after their arrival between 1866 and 1872.
