Johnny Miller was twenty-three when he died the first time. The truck hit him as he pedaled along a Texas road, biking across the country in an attempt to find, somehow, somewhere, a new life. His old life, you see, had vanished like a vapor. He thought he had lost everything on the day he lost his dear Annie.
