Texas Public Information Laws: The Texas Public Information Act and Rules, 2014 Edition

This book contains the full text of the Texas Public Information Act (formerly known as the Texas Open Records Act). The Act governs public access to information held by all Texas governmental bodies, including cities, school districts, counties, state agencies, and special purpose districts. The book also includes rules from the Texas Attorney General on how much the public may be charged for copies of public information, the confidentiality of information requested for legislative purposes, the Attorney General's review of public information redactions, and the electronic submission of requests to the Attorney General for open records decisions. The Texas Supreme Court's rules on public access to judicial records are also included.
