THE BEST SOLDIER'S WIFE is the deeply personal story of one woman trying to cope with the shocks and aftershocks of Canada's war in Afghanistan. In April 2009, Amy Malcolm's husband -- a reservist and helicopter pilot in the Canadian Forces -- informs her that he has volunteered to serve in Afghanistan. Amy is torn between her anger that Ian didn't even consult her and an overwhelming fear that he will die.
