Ghost of Yesterday

Susan Terris' new book THE GHOST OF YESTERDAY: New & Selected Poems features 19 new poems as part of the Ghostlit sequence of diptychs. This is a wide-ranging sequence that covers a life explored and closely-examined. The other five sections of the book include poems from each of Terris' five previous books of poetry: CURVED SPACE. NATURAL DEFENSES, FIRE IS FAVORABLE TO THE DREAMER, CONTRARIWISE, and THE HOMELESSNESS OF SELF. Throughout the book, the poetry is both intimate and surprising, considers nature and human nature, has stark truths interspersed with sudden bursts of humor. The book is complex yet, at the same time, one that invites the reader in to share the experiences of the writer.
