If you have read my first book Heart's Reflections, you know I started to write in a very unusual way.  Again I believe every word I have written here.  It all comes right from my heart, and I hope it will touch your heart as well.  

Even though we have all experienced being a child in our own way, I know there is something in this book just for you.
 
Consider this a gift to yourself.  You are holding something you will want to keep and reread as your life goes on.  It will become an old friend.

My mother loved butterflies, for their beauty, yes,
but mostly because they were free.
A kind of free she never was and never would be.
Prisons are not only the brick and mortar ones we see.
No, they can take many forms,
some can even be inside of you and me.
Most shocking is that love can be a prison too.
Yes, the kind of love we feel,
both me and you.
In my mother's life there were always invisible walls
that only she could see.
So the butterfly became a symbol
of what she wished she could be.
My mom wore one all the time,
and so The Butterfly Lady became her name...

Nina Frances Pierce was born in Newark, New Jersey. Her two dreams as a young girl were to become a teacher and marry a wonderful man. She was very lucky to have both her dreams come true. She taught third grade for thirty years in Franklin Township in Somerset, New Jersey. She has been married to a wonderful man for 45 years. They have two grown children and three handsome grandsons. They retired to Las Vegas where they now live.
