Gabriela Maj: Almond Garden: Portraits from the Women's Prisons in Afghanistan

Over the course of four years, Polish Canadian photographer Gabriela Maj traveled across Afghanistan collecting portraits and stories from inside the country's numerous women's prisons. This publication pays homage to these individuals and explores the corruption and abuse that permeate the prison system.
