The Pontiac Trail, Route 66 and the Chicago to St. Louis Roads by Larry McClellan with contributions from Dave Sullivan and Tim Dye. This book covers the history of the Chicago to St. Louis transportation corridor. Starting as river routes from the Great Lakes to the Mississippi River Valley, Indian trails, wagon roads, stage coach routes, to its transformation as an automobile route and then to what we now know as Route 66. The book is rich with illustrations, maps, vintage photos and full color photos. It measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and contains 72 pages.
