Darin's Dilemma

A chance encounter, or so it seemed, brought Darin MacQuay and Gillian Davis together on a glorious summer morning. Darin sat with his usual morning coffee at the restaurant window watching locals hurrying about their business when he spotted a young woman and two adorable children on The Square. Something about her drew Darin outdoors and to The Square for a closer look. After a short, but guarded conversation, he learned that she was new to Fells Point, widowed, looking for a job and the adorable tykes were her children. He was taken by the sadness in her eyes and, as improbable as it seemed, she captured his heart that morning and then walked away. But, as love stories go - and this is a love story - they met again. Gillian was looking for work, Darin ran a restaurant and was in need of a waitress; problem solved. Gillian had a job and Darin had her in his life until he could figure out what put that sadness in her eyes.
