REDEEMING VASHTI Her Journey from Condemnation to Restoration is a story of a woman's journey from a place of disobedience and rebellion to the expectations of society's dictates and decrees where her experiences mimic those of Queen Vashti from the Old Testament Book of Esther. Vashti is given a command and refuses to obey, causing her to incur the anger and wrath of her king and his nobles, officials, military officers and princes. Vashti is dethroned and replaced by another more pleasing to the king. What would be the dangers to be faced by a woman of today who encounters the same scenario? She has refused to obey her husband, incurring not only his wrath, but the whole of society it seems. She must, of course, suffer the consequences of her actions. Finding herself in desperate need of love and affection but reaping instead rejection, abandonment, shame, humiliation and destitution. Can she ever, and how would she ever, make her way back into the society whose mandates she has refused to adhere to.
