There s a world beneath bridges and hidden behind strip malls that few venture to see. Platinum Mike dares to live it and lives to tell about it in The Hobo Who Couldn't Catch a Train, a memoir about struggling to get back on your feet. Mike knows his time working at a jewelry store is coming to an end when his manager moves him from doorman to accounting, not exactly where his qualifications of owning a black suit and having a square jaw fit him the best. There s also his dyslexia adding to the problem. In the midst of it all, Mike feels the call to run toward freedom an inescapable wanderlust and urge to escape the daily grind.
