Business, Government, and Society: The Global Political Economy shows how lobbying, legal action, subsidies, and many other government economic activities work in the United States and, to a lesser degree, in other political systems. It is not a handbook with directions about how to set up a political action committee, bring a lawsuit, or apply for a government subsidy. More fittingly, it aims to inform readers about the reasons firms turn to government as part of the struggle for competitive advantage and how that interplay can affect a company's welfare, and the welfare of society.
