The more good temper and coolness shown by the police, whenever they are called upon to act, the more readily will all the well-disposed assist them in preserving the public peace and securing any riotous or disorderly person. 9. The police must not be permitted to exact food &c, from the villages they visit, or elsewhere, without paying for the same.
