In 1932 Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote a book about her life in the pioneering days that has charmed generations of children and adults. This is not that book. This book tells the story of Helena, a plucky pioneer girl, and her family as they run afoul of sinister blackberries, thwart bear attacks, and begin a family outing through a bloodthirsty forest hungry for their souls. The Curse of the Dark Woods is the first book in the Little House in the Dark Woods series.
