Excerpt from The Spanish Civil Code: In Force in Spain, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines
Art. 2. This Code will go into effect in the aforesaid Islands twenty days after its publication in the official papers of the same.
Art. 3. In harmony with the provisions of art. I of the same Code, the laws shall go in force in the Colonial provinces, twenty days after their promulgation, it being understood that this shall be considered as made the day on which their insert ions in the official papers ofthe Islands terminate.
