Louis Sockalexis, Baseball Pioneer

Fifty years before Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in major league baseball, a talented outfielder named Louis Sockalexis became the first American Indian to play in the majors. He was such an exciting player that his team, the Cleveland Spiders, was renamed the Cleveland Indians. This is his story. (for ages 10-up)
