In a world much like our own and perhaps closer to our own than we realize, creatures that seem so different from humankind live, work, and play just as we do. One of those creatures is Larry Van Zandt, Private Investigator. Once a golem carved from soapstone, Larry has been given life, sentience and a thirst to solve minor mysteries. The latest in the line of said mysteries involves a young, wealthy vampire kidnaped from her parents’ home. A case that seems straightforward enough until one fact became readily apparent. Aimee Duvet, heir of the rich and powerful Duvet family, had left of her own free will. With the law on Aimee’s side, collecting this paycheck might be more difficult than Larry had bargained for. Following Aimee’s trail adds interesting new pieces to a puzzle that Larry had not anticipated. What is the bigger picture and what does it have to do with Aimee?
