Description

William Emerson, a highly decorated ex-Navy SEAL, suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder developed after Desert Storm in 1991. He works as a children's editor in a publishing house where he suspects financial wrongdoing by the president of the company. Immediately before the Iraqi war in 2003, he is suddenly called by the Pentagon to train a group of SEALs. William and his team must covertly defuse mines near the Baghdad airport. His sense of duty and fear causes him more stress. During a marathon, he meets Sharon and they are attracted to each other. He must solve a pressing problem of childcare for his seven-year-old daughter because of his ex-wife's acting career. The stress of military missions, work, family, new relationships and possible criminal activity at his workplace causes William's post-traumatic stress disorder to become severe. He can hardly function. This is a story about a man-a hero-who helps others during the challenge to help himself as he seeks personal redemption and renewal.
