The Hopes and Dreams: Of Three Generations

Meet three generations of American women, each who has a tale to tell. Maria, the young girl who leaves Italy with her family and comes to America. Her memories of Italy fade as she adapts to the new country, developing a sense of independence that clashes with her family's customs. Daughter Julia is the first in her family to graduate from high school and enter college. Against her mother's wishes Julia's path takes a turn and going to college is replaced by marriage and the desire for a family. Lindy has the independence of her grandmother. Not seeing marriage or children in her future, she plans to travel around the world. A tragic accident causes her life to change and leads her down a different path.
