Vandenheuvel works very hard to appear to be the nerdy boy next door. That is, if you're living next door to the devil in disguise. Torus hides a dark secret, a dangerous secret known to Ron and his closest associates. Thinking that his position of power puts him above the law, Vandenheuvel embarks on a systematic program of targeting everyone having any knowledge of his secret.
