It is the seventy-fifth year of Middlestitch School in London. Celebrations are planned, there is an excitement in the air. However, one pupil, James Figg has a problem he cannot get out of his mind-his holiday in the hills of Wales. It was there he first found a friend called Ash; and it was then things started to go rather odd. Even his form teacher Mr. Phanning became involved, as did Miss Caramila, the music teacher.
