Stefan is growing up in post-war Poland. His childhood is sad and confusing. His resentment toward communists turns his early adulthood into constant failure. In desperation he leaves Poland in search for better life. In a short time he's at the peak of his career, fulfilling the American dream. He quickly realizes however, that success doesn't come easy. Not knowing how to overcome the unknown obstacles, he makes fatal mistake.
