Twenty-five year old Shannon Cederland is captivated by Jacob Sorenson, a man nineteen years her senior. Knowing the relationship is impossible, she fills five spiral notebooks, never meant to be seen by anyone, with her innermost fantasies, dreams, and poetry about Jacob. One frigid December day, almost three years after meeting him, Shannon's heartbreaking parting with Jacob compels her to compose an erotic story at the end of her fifth notebook, describing an imaginary intimate night with Jacob in vivid detail. The next day, the five notebooks go missing. Where did they go? Who would do such a thing? And worst of all, what if Jacob were to get a hold of them?
