This book is about Kunti, Draupadi and Gandhari, the three heroines of the Hindu epic Mahabharata. It analyzes the events that shaped their lives and the manner in which they responded to adversities. The author has offered many new insights of various incidents from the epic, and these are quite thought provoking. Views of other scholars have been examined. Draupadi's ordeals in the two sabhas, her attempted abduction by Jayadratha and the assault on dharma have been treated in depth.
