West Point's Sentinel Event

Jake Stein, a physician surveyor for JCHO, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, is dispatched to the United States Military Academy, USMA, at West Point, New York, to investigate the unanticipated and inexplicable death of a senior female cadet, captain of the Ladies Soccer Team. When Jake comes close to solving the mystery his life is threatened. About to be killed, he uses his wits to manage a miraculous and unbelievable escape. To the delight of the Superintendent and Commandant of USMA and the bewilderment of a United States Senator visiting West Point on a fact-finding mission, the entire Corps of Cadets volunteer to undertake an extraordinary and unprecedented rescue operation that includes apprehension of the criminals.
