Description

Growing up in the 60's, the "pre-internet" era, was a wonderful time in my life and the life of my younger brother Brad. This collection of 59 stories is a compellation of adventures and experiences that he and I shared while growing up in the city. We had moved to Wisconsin from the Chicago area when I was quite young, but we “went home” to Indiana once or twice a year after that and each time, brought back with us new and improved ways of getting into trouble. Upon our return, we’d immediately share this information with our new found fellow delinquents and then, en mass, set out to wreak havoc in our quiet, white collared, upper Midwest neighborhood. Now, looking back, I’m ashamed of the heartache and monetary losses that we had inflicted upon our poor unwitting neighbors, but hey, I don’t ever recall uttering the phrase “I’m bored”, a phrase that is so popular with today’s youth. Imagination? Guess you don’t need one anymore. Someone else has done the imagining for us and put their ideas and adventures on a computer screen, a miniature LCD panel, or a portable gaming machine. That’s unfortunate, but don’t despair! For within the pages of this book you will find many adventures that were lived by two young boys at a time before computers and the internet, before video games and cell phones, a time when riding your bicycle, swimming in the lake and using your imagination was all that you really needed to have fun. To this day these stories, when shared with friends and acquaintances, draw gasps of disbelief and phrases like “You did what!” and “Your poor parents!”…
