The premier symposium on Surfactants in Tribology, held in Seoul in 2006, was an enormously successful event that generated a high level of interest in the topic, leading to the publication of the first volume in this series in 2008. The tremendous response was echoed at the follow-up symposium in Berlin that same year, and leading researchers, many of whom participated in the second event, were invited to submit chapters for Surfactants in Tribology, Volume Two.
