Graffiti-artist and professed slacker Cole Anderson was never much into the community service scene. But when a punishment for defacing school property leads him to restoring an abandoned 19th C. estate with his overbearing peer-tutor Thea Wallace, Cole's life takes an unexpected turn. That is, on his first day at Windwhyst he runs into Josiah and Augusta Lyons... a pair of ghosts who have lived there for 200 years. Suddenly, the teens find themselves swept up in a world of history, murder, love, piracy, war, suicide, libraries, laboratories, lies and the deadly company that calls itself PELF. Cole is faced with a series of choices, as he struggles through relationships and forsakes his misanthropy to become a pillar of the ghosts' survival. Now that Thea's got a stalker and another military-minded ghost is thrown into the mix, the whole episode becomes irrevocable. Windwhyst has left a permanent mark on Cole's life - a life that he suddenly seems at risk of losing.
