The volume entitled Re-inventing / Re-presenting Cultural Identities in a Global World is an edited collection of twelve selected essays which address cultural identity formation in conjunction with immigration, diaspora, repatriation, as well as gender and racial politics within a globalized context. With the peripheral having now become the center of contemporary Western culture, this volume examines cultural, literary and linguistic diversities that have emerged from the reciprocal traffic of ideas and influences between culturally and ethnically diverse groups, politics, aesthetics and disciplines. Written in an accessible style, this volume addresses several audiences from postgraduate researchers and scholars in the fields of Anglo-American and cross-cultural studies, women's studies, popular culture studies, and ethnic and minority literature studies, to scholars and students of American literary modernism and post-modernism, the literatures of immigrants, cross-Atlantic literary studies, global and trans-atlantic studies as well as cultural geography.
