The protaganist, Dave Gold, is a private enquiry agent in Sydney, Australia.In the first book, UNDERWORLD, Dave is engaged by the kingpin of the Sydney underworld to clear his son of a murder charge.In the second book, IDENTITY CRISIS, Dave is engaged by a young man who has had his personal memory destroyed, to try to find who he is.
