The Plague

When the greatest plague known to Mankind is unleashed by an offshore drilling rig, the world is mortified. When a nine-inch bit crashes through an outcropping of shale, something altogether different boils to the surface, something other than oil and natural gas. The world is forever changed. Some said it was an ancient pathogen, a prolific virus which had cooked in the Earth's mantle for millions of years. Others called it a freak of nature, a biological anomaly, a hybrid of E-bola Zaire and some unknown nerve agent, something which had run amok along the evolutionary scale. But most feared it was the onset of Armageddon, an apocalypse, the final clash between immense spiritual forces, between Heaven and Hell. What is unleashed by Pelco Petroleum is an evil of biblical proportion, something which engenders the dead to walk among the living, as well as feed upon it.
