African American and African Folklore

Preachers, Warrior Kings, Cunning Tricksters, and more! Many of these stories will make you laugh, some will make you think. The African American tales are mostly comical stories with Christian themes...mostly. Then the stories move to the folktales and traditional gods of Africa. Because African Americans are primarily descended from West African people, all of the African stories are from that part of Africa.
