In Search of Maine Urban Legends

Maine is well known for its Urban Legends. At the heart of every legend there is truth. With this book I attempt to find that truth, in order to help us better understand the historical origins of these legends. Bucksport is at the heart of many of the more well known Urban Legends, from the famed Jonathan Buck Witch's Curse to the Legend of Charlie the Elephant and his escape and run through the streets. There are also darker true accounts of female serial killers and bizarre murders in the night, hunted down from all over Maine. The first serial killer in the United States may be the first one in my book.
