When a graduate of a tiny Texas town writes a book and then a film production company comes to town to make a movie of it, no one could guess how it would affect nearly everyone in the little community. Some support the project and some resent it, especially when the book's characters bear an uncomfortable resemblance to citizens of the town! Hollywood Texas tells of the hilarity and escapades of a little town that attempts to cope with its "fifteen minutes of fame" even as some people struggle to keep the town's most scandalous secrets hidden!
