Solar Storm

Business is business, even in space. Ann Hennessey is the newly appointed operations director of a space station that hasn't made a profit since it opened eight years ago. She and her team have been told to use their limited resources to prepare unused station modules for new customers. These customers begin to arrive in ever-increasing numbers, thanks to an aggressive marketing campaign undertaken by their Earth-based managers, whose lack of experience in the orbital environment leads them to make unrealistic commitments that Ann is ordered to meet. Her protest that rushed work will lead to problems is ignored. As the station population increases, equipment breaks down, damaged by a mysterious chemical agent. Lives are threatened when systems begin to fail, and the need to find the source of the contamination becomes critical. With the approach of a dangerous solar storm, Ann's struggle to make her station profitable soon becomes a race to save it from destruction.
