Description

Against the background of the 1962 Cuban Crisis, Russian spies function within the U.S. military. They were put in place in 1924. The Crisis develops, and the Strategic Air Command flexes it muscles. It sends B-52s into the skies to fly 24 hour airborne alert missions. At the same time, the Navy blockades Cuba and must locate and render 4 Soviet submarines inoperative. The subs are armed with nuclear torpedoes. The President and the National Security work to convince Nikita Khrushchev that a holocaust will occur if the Soviet Union continues to pursue the arming of ballistic missiles in Cuba. Throughout all this, Nemesis, the Soviet mole in the Air Force is being pressured to provide the USSR with the unique kernel of information that will provide Khrushchev with an upper hand.
