Robert's Rules of Order

Though Henry M. Robert's Rules of Order is, in essence, a detailed reference manual on the rules of Parliamentary procedure, to relegate this work to the realm of encyclopedias or other books used primarily for consultation would be a mistake. While Robert does indeed provide the black and white necessary for organization and meeting structure, Rules of Order provides insight not only into formalized public or legal meetings but also into strategies for dealing with people across professions. Do not be dissuaded by the formal approach taken in Rules of Order when considering personal applications; after all, you have to know the Rules before you can break them.
