A contemporary romance While growing up in the small town of Clanton, Ohio, beautiful Carly Cabrerra develops a close friendship with her childhood playmate Jake. As their friendship continues to grow throughout their teenage years and into young adulthood, Carly inevitably finds herself falling in love with the handsome and athletic "Golden Boy" of Clanton. Before Carly can express her true feelings for Jake, his rock band is offered a recording contract with a major record label and he moves to Los Angeles. Carly struggles to cope with the possibility of losing Jake to the glitz, glamour, and privilege of his new life - particularly to the multitude of beautiful women who are throwing themselves at the incredibly handsome rock star. To make matters worse, Jake's contradictory actions make it hard for her to gauge whether he feels the same way about her. Jake's tender caresses, searing kisses, and intense love-making send Carly to new emotional heights. But Jake's newfound fame, revelry, and droves of beautiful female admirers make her doubt whether she - a small-town girl - can ever win his love.
