The mysterious forces of history hide their faces in events. This is especially true of military history. There is a "kraft," a power that seems inexplicable. In these cases, it would seem as if it is best to demonstrate the world of shades by the events themselves rather than by flat definitions. You seek"how," not "what." You seek what exists, not "who," or even "why." You point. This small monograph attempts just that. It attempts to point. Let the military events speak as they will. After that, the dialogue can begin. Knowledge is the gateway to the useful. In war, conflict, battle, that which is useful is that which is most needed. Let the reader be convinced or not as to whether a hidden kraft has been demonstrated, and, more speculatively, what its source may be.
