The Cost of Courage

Naval hero, Lieutenant Commander Charles Courtland, is home from WWI tormented by terrifying memories of battle. The ugly scars on his psyche are taking far longer to heal than those on his body. Fighting nightmarish demons, he will not speak to anyone of his experiences. His suffering extends to his wife and daughter, but mysteriously, to none more than his young son Brent. For him, it has even reached the point of physical abuse.
Growing up emotionally distant from his father, Brent's love of the sea has called him to a naval career.
With the onset of World War II, it is he who must now go off to face the gut-wrenching shock of war at sea.
Perhaps, in the red misty haze of battle, he will finally come to understand the mystery of his father's treatment. Perhaps, he will learn far more than he ever wanted to know.
