Magic Lamp

Rosa, the central character, fuses her human emotions of suffering and fear with the mystery of trying to understand her grandmother’s death. She is lectured by an unknown power called Spirit to help her grasp the difference of the meaning of Life and Living to gain an understanding of love. In her eagerness for her grandmother’s resurrection, she forgets the natural gifts given to her by Mother Nature at birth. She alternates between doing good deeds (which brightens her lamp) and intense suffering (which diminishes the lamp’s glow). Her bitterness and displeasure, because of her grandmother’s death, bring her to the point of self-surrender. Such bitterness made her forget everything beyond her own earthly pleasures. She ends life’s journey with renewed strength and self-awareness.
