Jonathan Walburgh earned a journalism degree from Texas Christian University in 1997 and has written about entertainment for several Texas newspapers. He has amassed a treasure trove of more than 1,000 printed and recorded pieces of music memorabilia since the late 1980s, and it is from this collection, along with information gathered from outside research, that he accumulated the information included within this work.
Pop music in the 1980s was dominated by talented artists such as Madonna, Michael Jackson and Prince. But there were many other famous performers during the decade such as Journey, Hall & Oates and Huey Lewis and the News that have been unjustly denied the recognition they deserve. Cannibals and Vixens covers these performers and many more with informative essays celebrating their contribution to the decade's unique musical landscape. From Irene Cara to The Cars, Toto to Bow Wow Wow, and Men at Work to Men Without Hats, these are among the personalities you'll encounter in Cannibals and Vixens on the River Styx.
