Guide to Common Medications: Second Edition 2008

The Guide to Common Medications has been one of the Cross Cultural Health Care Program’s most popular publications. Used by practicing medical interpreters, trainers, and other health and social service professionals, it is an easy-to-understand reference that provides answers to important questions on common medications. Each section divides medications into types of drugs, explaining how each type works in the body, and then giving examples of specific medications. There are two ways to look up information in this guide: via the section headings in the table of contents, or alphabetically in the index. Recognizing the diversity and the different ways to health, the mission of the Cross Cultural Health Care Program is to serve as a bridge between communities and health care institutions to ensure full access to quality health care that is culturally and linguistically appropriate.
