A Sari Society: Life inside the Brothels of India

Every year, more than four million women and children around the globe are trafficked into prostitution and slavery. The sex slave trade has particularly devastating effects on girls and young women in India. In A Sari Society, author Mackey Hooper presents a diary of her experiences working with Rahab's Rope in India, helping women and girls who had been forced into brothels for sex trafficking. Beginning in the summer of 2008, Hooper's journal follows her daily activities as she tries to provide education and hope to the women who felt the pain, degradation, loneliness, and hopelessness associated with sexual slavery.
