Edward S. Curtis - The North American Indian contains a collection of Curtis’ works originally owned by Frank Donohue. The collection contains Volume II, Volume III, 57 photogravures and 17 rare, some never seen before, lantern slides. This is a unique collection. It contains some unpublished photogravures, photogravures on experimental paper, unnumbered books and printers proof photo-lithographs for an article Curtis wrote for Scribner’s Magazine in 1909. It also contains 17 rare lantern slides used by Curtis in his stereopticon shows. The book also contains excerpts from Curtis’ volumes, his other writings, titles and descriptions of each photogravure.
