Calumet History Magazine: Number Two - Fall 2011

Most people, when they arrive in Calumet for the first time, sense something different about the town. Not only is Calumet surrounded by some of the most beautiful land and water in the Midwest, there's a feeling that Calumet has always been here, if not physically then in spirit; and that whatever may come, Calumet will always be here. The rich, colorful history, individual character, and tenacity of the Copper Country has been well written about, more than cities and metropolitan areas tens times its size. Calumet was the center of the copper boom for decades, and remains a focal point of the Keweenaw - Calumet deserves its own magazine. This second issue celebrates just a tiny fraction of the history - but enough, I hope, to keep you interested and entertained.
