Out Beelzebub!: A Novel

DAMIEN-VIC, a larger-than-life, loud-mouth homosexual novelist is determined to see Janette Wolbers’s literary career ruined. What begins as a prank lands him in prison, where he makes plans to poison her with a toxic flower cooked into clam chowder. As Damien-Vic gets to know her, however, delusions of murder are soon forgotten in the rush of a sea-sponge phenomenon gripping the country, a couture line of costumes for toy dogs, startling flip-flop of fortunes, and the inevitable arrival of venereal disease. Dispensing with enmity, the very odd couple teams up with a tea cup Chihuahua to save Janette’s daughter from the booby-trapped catacombs beneath Port Authority. In the mean-spirited tradition of A CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES, OUT BEELZEBUB! is a rollicking farce that is sure to appeal to the McSWEENEY’S crowd and sexual deviants.
