Steve Aponavicius, nicknamed Sid Vicious by his Boston College coaches and teammates, never played a game of organized football in his life. Then, he was discovered kicking field goals for fun and walked on to the Eagles’ squad. In 2006, he made his unexpected – and perfect—debut. Three years later, BC’s Sid Vicious broke all previous records and became the all-time leading scorer on the team that over the years produced stars such as 1984 Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie and 2009 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Matt Ryan.
